So…this isn’t the most sophisticated or educational app out there but it is some serious fun. I have been using this for a couple of weeks and it just has a way of lifting your spirits.

In a nutshell, Chatterpix is an app that allows you to transform a picture into a talking, singing hilarity. The user simply imports or takes a picture in the app, draws a line on the screen (usually the photo subject’s mouth), records voice, bedazzles with “stickers” or “frames” and voila the picture comes alive.

My family has had a ball with this app. In an education setting I can see this as an answer for children who do not have photography rights. They could take a picture of anything (other than themselves) and draw a “mouth” on, add some voice and he/she can still participate. It really does allow quite a bit of creativity and would definitely be a “carrot” to dangle for kids to do their work so they can use it. Perhaps after students read a book, they take a picture of the cover and then have the book “talk” about its subject. There are really a ton of fun ways to incorporate this app into the daily grind and spread a little laughter.
